LDEA and LNP Strengthen Joint Fight Against Crime Through Strategic Coordination

Monrovia, Liberia — April 2, 2026: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) and the Liberia National Police (LNP) have strengthened their collaboration in the fight against crime following a first-of-its-kind strategic coordination meeting held Thursday at LDEA Headquarters in Sinkor.

The meeting brought together LDEA commanders and LNP Zone Commanders from Montserrado County to deepen operational coordination and improve cooperation between the two security institutions. The LNP delegation was led by ACP Prince Cessell, Commander of the Montserrado Police Detachment.

In his opening remarks, LDEA Officer-in-Charge DCP Biago welcomed the commanders and emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and coordinated security operations. He stressed that both agencies share the same mission of protecting the people of Liberia and called for stronger collaboration without competition.

DCP Biago also commended Deputy OIC for Operations ACP Patrick Kormazu (U-702) and Facia Carter (U-704) for organizing the historic initiative and advancing stronger cooperation between the two agencies.

The primary objective of the meeting was to establish a closer communication platform, strengthen information sharing, and improve strategic and operational coordination between LDEA and LNP personnel across Montserrado County.

As a major outcome of the meeting, LDEA officers will now join LNP patrol teams, marking a new phase of joint security operations in Montserrado County. The initiative is expected to enhance information sharing, improve response capabilities, and strengthen the collective fight against crime and drug-related activities.
