Four Dismissed LDEA Officers Make First Court Appearance Over Alleged Cocaine Tampering

Monrovia, Liberia — May 21, 2026: Four dismissed officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), formerly assigned to Robert International Airport (RIA), made their first court appearance at the 13th Judicial Circuit Court in Margibi County.

The officers were dismissed on May 5, 2026, following a full-scale investigation by the LDEA Board of Internal Inquiry and Professional Standards Division. They were subsequently referred to the Ministry of Justice for criminal prosecution over allegations that they tampered with cocaine seized from defendant Quita Dolo on July 12, 2025. Dolo is currently facing trial on drug-trafficking charges.

The dismissed officers are Joe Logan, former Commander at RIA; Abdullai Sheriff, Chief of Operations; Lovetee Flowers, Department Chief of Operations; and Menkpapuo Duo, an operative.

The LDEA said it maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy toward corruption, misconduct, and criminal acts that could compromise national security and public confidence.

The Agency emphasized that no officer is above the law and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and the rule of law.

The LDEA said it will continue to closely monitor the case and fully cooperate with the Ministry of Justice throughout the prosecution process.
