LDEA Arrests Two Sierra Leonean Women With Drugs Worth LD$711,500

Monrovia, Liberia — April 10, 2026: Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), Grand Cape Mount County Detachment, have arrested two Sierra Leonean nationals after discovering narcotics concealed in their clothing during a routine search at the Tienii Check Point.

The arrest took place on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at approximately 1:30 PM. The suspects were identified as Aminata Bah, 33, and Isata B. Koroma, 32, both residents of Belliar Park, Freetown, Sierra Leone.

During the body search, LDEA officers discovered 281 strips of Tapentadol (Tramadol) and one plastic bag containing 47.4 grams of marijuana, which were concealed in the suspects' underwear.

The total estimated street value of the seized substances is LD$711,500, equivalent to approximately US$3,952.77.

The suspects are currently in LDEA custody and are being accorded due process of law. They will be formally charged and forwarded to court for prosecution in accordance with the drug laws of the Republic of Liberia.
