LDEA SEIZES LRD 1.17 MILLION WORTH OF TRAMADOL IN SASSTOWN

SASSTOWN, Liberia — October 11, 2026: The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA), through the Grand Kru Detachment, has arrested Amie M. Thomas, 29, a Liberian resident of Monrovia, on October 7 at approximately 6:00 P.M. during a routine checkpoint operation, seizing 16 boxes of Tramadol valued at LRD 1,176,000 (US$6,533.33).

Following preliminary investigation, Thomas was charged and forwarded to court for alleged narcotics-related offenses under Liberia’s amended drug law, which provides for non-bailable offenses in applicable cases.
