Monrovia, Liberia -May 19, 2026 The Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency(LDEA), through its Grand Gedeh County Detachment, has recorded another significant breakthrough in the ongoing national crackdown against illegal drugs with the arrest of a suspected trafficker in Gbowo Town, Gate #2 Grand Gedeh County.— Hon. During the operations, officers arrested suspect Happiness Kan, a 25-year-old Sierra Leonean national at about 4:00am on the 17th of May 2026 with the following substances;
Marijuana 10 plates
Lawo(marijuana) 8cans
Tramadol(Tenpentadol)10 boxes
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is;
1. Marijuana 10 plates 650.00 USD, and its equivalent is LD 123,500.00
2. Lawo (Marijuana)8 Can 8.8.00USD and its equivalent in LD is 1,672.00
3.Tramadol(Tenpentadol) 10 boxes 1,052.63¢USD and its equivalent in LD is 200,000.00.
The total estimated street value is USD 1,711.43¢ and its equivalent LD 325,172.00
Meanwhile suspect Happiness Kan is currently undergoing investigation and will be forwarded to court in according to the amended Drugs Law of Liberia.
